The Toronto Food Film Fest is seeking to expand its team. We are looking for qualified volunteers to work remotely and help grow our festival.
Our mission is to celebrate the art of independent film and the local food scene operating using equitable and environmentally sustainable practices. We promote an inclusive community and advancement opportunities for filmmakers and vendors.
This is primarily done through an annual multi-day festival, this year taking place Oct 1– 4. The festival of course is more than just a film festival: we offer an array of additional programming including panels, workshops, tastings, parties, book readings, dinners, a screen to plate experience and more. Fundraising: Develop an approach to identify the most relevant funding opportunities. Help TFFF manage and write funding proposals.
Role:
Research available funding opportunities
Assist in writing funding proposals
Help with reporting for funders
Help develop donor stewardship plan
Skill required:
Organization
Written and verbal communication
Previous grant writing experience would be an asset
Interest in independent film and/or food culture

Partnerships/Sponsorship: Research and present sponsorship/partnership opportunities, establish relationships and manage in-kind donations and event partnerships.
Role:
Research potential partners and sponsors
Collaborate with team and co-founders
Coordinate with new and returning partners and sponsors
Brainstorm and propose partnership opportunities
Skill required:
Organization
Written and verbal communication
Previous partnership experience an asset

Legal Advisor: Senior volunteer role to help write and review legal documents in accordance with the running of the Toronto Food Film Festival
Role:
Work with Co-Founders and the TFFF Board of Directors to write and review legal documents
Help interpret and assess contracts
Provide legal advice in non-profit governance
Skills:
Experience in the legal profession
Understanding of corporate law for non-profits in Ontario
Understanding of entertainment law in Ontario
Ability to work collaboratively with team members
Organization and time management
Interest in independent film and/or food culture
Graphic Designer: Creative beautiful and engaging designs for festival communications, merchandise, marketing and much more.
Role:
Design original graphics to support our festival
Work with our partnership and marketing teams to develop creative
Work on graphics for presentations, programming, marketing materials and the website
Ensure everything you produce is high-quality and consistent with the TFFF brand and aesthetic
Skills:
1 or more years of experience as a graphic designer
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
Knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Web technical requirements
Ability to work collaboratively with team members
Organization and time management
Interest in independent film and/or food culture
Copywriter:
Role:
Write copy for Toronto Food Film Festival materials such as film programming notes, marketing campaigns, emails and web pages
Write engaging copy that aligns to our brand
Collaborate with TFFF teams across the organization
Write blog posts and marketing emails
Help develop the TFFF voice and editorial style
Skills:
2+ year experience as a writer
Previous non-profit organization or film writing experience an asset
Ability to adapt copy tone of voice for various audiences
Clear and compelling writing skills
Editing skills an asset
Ability to work independently and with teams
Interest in independent film and/or food culture

Public Relations / Media Relations: help us promote the 2021 Toronto Food Film Festival to the media and the public.
Role
Promote and represent TFFF to the media
Help write press releases and pitch media
Establish and maintain relationships with media contacts
Assist in responding to any press release or media inquiries on behalf of the organization
Assist in developing TFFF public and media relations strategy
Skills:
2+ year experience in Public Relations, Media Relations and Communications
Previous non-profit organization, food industry and/or film industry experience an asset
Clear and compelling writing skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently and with teams
Interest in independent film and/or food culture
