WORK WITH US

The Toronto Food Film Fest is seeking to expand its team. We are looking for qualified coordinators to work and help grow our festival.

Our mission is to celebrate the art of independent film and the local food scene operating using equitable and environmentally sustainable practices. We promote an inclusive community and advancement opportunities for filmmakers and vendors.

 

This is primarily done through an annual multi-day festival, this year taking place Oct 14–17, 2022. The festival is more than just a film festival: we offer an array of additional programming including panels, workshops, tastings, parties, book readings, dinners, a screen to plate experience and more. Come join our team!

EVENT COORDINATOR:

6 weeks, 30hrs a week, $25/hr

ROLE

  • Coordinate with festival programming team

  • Engage with potential contributors

  • Plan, schedule and confirm logistics for events

Help plan and organize events for the 2022 season. Past events include: indoor and outdoor screenings, cooking demonstrations, workshops, panel discussions and tastings -- in person and online.

skills required

  • Organization

  • Self-starter, able to work independently

  • Project Management skills

  • Contacts in the food or film industries a plus

  • Interest in independent film and/or food culture

ELIGIBILITY

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period*

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**

  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance

*The youth must be 15 years of age at the beginning of the employment period. The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
**International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible. As the objective of the Canada Summer Jobs program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student’s time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.

With the support of Canada Summer Jobs program through the government of Canada, Toronto Food Film Fest is offering youth mentorship and an opportunity to develop and improve skills.

FUNDRAISING:

ROLE

  • Research available funding opportunities

  • Assist in writing funding proposals

  • Help with reporting for funders

  • Help develop donor stewardship plan

Develop an approach to identify the most relevant funding opportunities. Help TFFF manage and write funding proposals.

skills required

  • Organization

  • Written and verbal communication

  • Previous grant writing experience would be an asset

  • Interest in independent film and/or food culture
